Programme overview

Where ideas become business decisions.

The Business Immersion Programme is an eight-day, seven-night residential experience for students aged 12–17, offered at Clayesmore School, Saint Felix School and Royal Hospital School.

Students begin with the foundations of business and entrepreneurship before working in teams to develop their own venture. They explore business types, marketing, finance, operations and human resources while considering what makes a business successful.

Why this programme matters

Business education becomes meaningful when students make decisions rather than simply learn definitions. Through investigation, teamwork and presentation, students understand how different business functions connect while developing inquiry, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, self-management, reflection, digital literacy, oracy and global citizenship.

Programme structure

Students visit Oxford or Cambridge, depending on the final route, and explore an environment shaped by enterprise, research, innovation and global ideas.

  5. Day05

Students analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats affecting a chosen business before refining their own product or service, target customers and route to market.

  6. Day06

Marketing, budgeting and the final pitch

Teams develop a marketing strategy, social-media campaign and basic budget covering costs, pricing and possible revenue before presenting their venture in a Dragons’ Den-style format.

A guided London experience introduces students to the capital’s landmarks, business environment, architecture, history and contemporary culture.
