St Felix sits on 75 acres of heather-edged Suffolk coast, a short walk from Southwold and a bicycle ride from a working harbour. Founded in 1897 as one of England's earliest and most respected girls' boarding schools, it turned co-educational in 1994, and today is home to 280 students aged 3–18 and each year, to our visiting Indian students too.
The campus has the quiet grandeur of late-Victorian architecture, gables, quadrangles, generous light , set against a coastline that shapes what's possible academically. Marine science, sailing, environmental fieldwork and a strong creative-writing tradition are exactly why we bring our students here, year after year.
Heritage
St Felix was founded in 1897 by Margaret Isabella Gardiner, as one of England's first girls' boarding schools to treat education seriously rather than ornamentally. It became co-educational in 1994. That founding spirit : intellectual seriousness, self-possession, a willingness to think for oneself , is the exact atmosphere we want our Indian students to experience during their time on this coast.

Boarding houses
Three boarding houses on campus, a short walk from the dining hall and library. Our students stay in supervised rooms during their immersion.
Science & marine labs
Six science labs and a small dedicated marine biology wet-lab , with intertidal access for fieldwork ten minutes from the door.
Sailing centre
A school-owned fleet of dinghies at Southwold harbour; a coastal sailing programme run each summer.
Music & Drama
Concert hall, recording studio, drama studio and a 300-seat theatre , plus a busy music school our students enjoy.

Indoor pool, sports hall, all-weather pitches, fitness suite, tennis courts , plus the North Sea beach for a swim.
